Mink yarn comes from mink that are gently shorn, so no mink die! The fibers are very soft but very short, so they are often spun together with other fibers to prevent the yarn from breaking when knitting. It can be knit with a single strand into a lovely shawl, or with two strands into a cozy sweater. There is not much mink yarn on the market, so you get a truly unique product that is also hand-dyed - win win......
